Alcoba & Meggle continue their learning progress in Jerez

After a long break, the juniors of the Dynavolt Intact GP team started again last weekend in Jerez in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto2 European Championship. After a positive weekend, Marc Alcoba unfortunately crashed in the race, while Matthias Meggle finished 12th despite illness.

It was not an easy weekend for the two Moto2 youngsters of the Dynavolt Intact GP racing team at the Circuito de Jerez. Nevertheless, both Marc Alcoba and Matthias Meggle made new progress in the highly demanding Moto2 category.

Matze, who started the weekend with a fever, was not 100% fit to attack at full power in the race on Sunday. Nevertheless, he showed a solid performance. The 18-year-old gritted his teeth and managed to make up 12th place and four points. Currently he occupies 14th position in the overall rankings, only two points behind his teammate Marc Alcoba.

On Saturday, the Spaniard secured an excellent grid position in the third row. From eighth position he had a rakish start into the race and was on the best way to catch up to the leading group. Unfortunately, however, his haunt ended abruptly with a crash after only three laps in the second corner. Nevertheless, Marc takes many positive insights from Jerez with him and is ready for the upcoming challenge.

In two weeks' time the juniors will be awaiting the penultimate event of the season. However, before the next two Moto2 races take place in Albacete on 14th October, the PromoRacing squad will have a test day at the circuit this week.
