First MotoE test leaves positive impressions
The first meeting of the FIM ENEL World Cup MotoE grid took place in Jerez de la Frontera from Friday to Sunday. Dynavolt Intact GP rider Jesko Raffin tested on Friday, Marvin Fritz was a very useful substitute rider on Saturday and Sunday.
A new era started at the Jerez circuit last weekend. The FIM ENEL MotoE World Cup 2019 preparations commenced with the first three-day test.
Jesko Raffin, who will compete in this World Championship series for the Dynavolt Intact GP team, was only able to test for one day and then flew to Valencia to compete as the freshly crowned Moto2 European Champion in the final race. But even after one day of testing, the Swiss racer could already get a better idea of his future electric bike, the 260kg Energica Ego Corsa. With his time of Friday, he ended up in 12th place in the ranking, which contains the names of one or the other well-known ex-MotoGP rider.
On Saturday and Sunday the Endurance World Championship rider Marvin Fritz jumped in as a worthy substitute. The 25-year-old was able to collect many more important data and give useful feedback for the Intact GP team with the Michelin tyres used in wet and dry conditions.
