Great end to the pre-season - Lüthi second fastest at Qatar test, Schrötter fifth
The Dynavolt IntactGP Team finished their season preparations successfully. Tom Lüthi finished the official test at the Losail International Circuit in second position and Marcel Schrötter rounded off the top five closely behind.
On the last of the three testing days the riders of the Dynavolt IntactGP Team impressively caught up inside the Moto2-field and played an important role inside the leading group.
Tom Lüthi showed a constantly fast pace during the final day and with his lap time of 1:58.663 in the second session he secured himself the second place overall, just behind the Brit Sam Lowes, who was two tenths of a second in front at the end of the test.
Marcel Schrötter improved once more on Sunday evening and was the fastest man on track at the last session of the test. With his 1:58.787 lap time, he followed his Swiss teammate with only one tenths of a second distance in the overall rankings of all three days and finished the last test of the pre season in fifth position.
Both Intact GP riders put their Kalex bikes, with the new 765cc strong three-cylinder-Triumph-engines, through their paces in Jerez and Qatar and developed their relevant base set ups. Particularly Tom Lüthi mastered his switch from MotoGP back into the Moto2 class and worked really well with his new crew around crew chief Michael Their.
Now the season opener race at the Losail International Circuit can come next week! The riders will kick off the season 2019 with the first free practice of the Qatar Grand Prix on Friday afternoon.
