LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP shines with successul Moto2 pre-season tests

LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP riders Manuel Gonzalez and Senna Agius put in strong performances at the Moto2 World Championship pre-season tests at Portimao and Jerez. These tests marked a promising start to the 2025 season.

Highly anticipated, Manuel Gonzalez and Senna Agius used the two days in Portimao to familiarise themselves with their new Kalex chassis. The Spanish newcomer finished the private Moto2 test in Portugal with the third-fastest time, which left the entire team with a very positive feeling.

At the following official test in Jerez, from the 18th - 20th of February, the 22-year-old Gonzalez set another clear exclamation mark. The experienced rider was the first Moto2 rider ever to set a time under 1:40 on the second day of testing on the almost 4.3 km long Spanish race track and finished in a strong third place overall with a personal best time of 1'39.597.

His Australian team-mate, Senna Agius, also put in a solid performance and finished ninth overall with a time of 1'40.193. The team around the 19-year-old is determined to regularly fight for top positions again in their second season together in the Moto2 class.

Following a successful test agenda, these strong results underline the potential of the Intact GP Moto2 duo for the upcoming season, which starts next week in Buriram, Thailand.

"We had a really good test here at Jerez and I am now feeling more prepared than ever. One year later, I am looking at more experience going into the first race of the season. I am really happy with the feeling I got with my bike. Me and my crew worked great together. We diagnosed the weak areas and where we need to further improve in the first couple of races. For sure, we need to keep working but now the bike's in a better spot as it runs really well and I am excited to get to Thailand, to pick up where we left off and keep working in the same way."

"It was a really strong test for us. We worked a lot with the soft rear tyre and our pace was pretty fast. In the morning, we did a little long run with the used tyre to see how the rear would perform. It was really strong, and I felt really good. Of course, there are still things we can improve, for example the corner entry. But overall, the bike worked well the whole time. At the end, we put on a new tyre to try a time attack, but the track was not as fast as in the morning. Nevertheless, it was a great test for us because in the end, we managed to put together a really strong bike in all aspects, with every tyre option and in all temperatures. So, I think we are more than ready for Thailand. The most important thing is that my confidence is now at 100 percent and no more, because if you go beyond that you can easily crash. In general, my confidence, not only in the bike but also in the team, is almost perfect. I'm looking forward to the first race weekend."

"The fact that we had good weather conditions during both tests, with the exception of half a day, played into our hands, as we were able to work through our test schedule as planned. It was clear from the start that we would try to work on our rhythm and ride a lot on used tyres, because we didn't want to focus so much on the top times. Fortunately, we still managed to do that, because both riders were at the front and put in very consistent laps. We tried out a few things, but were also able to sort them out, so I think we have built up an acceptable basis for the first Grand Prix. Now we have to stay focussed, because at the season opener in Thailand we are starting with a blank paper, but I have a good feeling and am extremely positive."
