Intact GP duo Muñoz and Pini impress in Moto3 pre-season tests

The new Moto3 pairing of the German LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP team, David Muñoz and Guido Pini, put in impressive performances at the Moto3 World Championship pre-season tests in Portimao and Jerez. While Muñoz made a great start with the third fastest time, youngster Guido Pini made an equally successful debut.

Last week, David Muñoz initially took to the track alone for the Memmingen-based racing team in Portimao, as his team-mate Guido Pini had to take a break for the time being following a pre-winter injury. Muñoz took the opportunity to put in some valuable laps on his new KTM.

The 18-year-old Spaniard then showed great potential at the official IRTA test in Jerez. With a time of 1:43.604, Muñoz not only set the fastest time of the day on the second test day, but also took third place in the final standings.

Moto3 rookie Guido Pini made his eagerly awaited test debut for the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team in Jerez. The young Italian immediately achieved 12th place in the overall test rankings and was just 0.914s behind the top.

With these promising results, the Intact GP team is optimistic about the season opener in Thailand from 28/02 - 02/03/2025. The combination of Muñoz and the youngster Pini promises an exciting 2025 Moto3 season in which the team aims to fight for top positions.

"The test in Jerez were, of course, three intensive days for me. But I felt better with the bike and also with the team from day to day. We were also able to consistently improve the bike, which will be good for the first Grand Prix next week. Overall, I feel good, even though I also crashed, but in the last session, I stayed calm and did a good job. So, I'm really happy and looking forward to the first race in Thailand."

"The first test in Portimao was somewhat affected by the weather, so we only really had one day to prepare. Guido wasn't fit at the time, so this second test was all the more important, where both riders and the entire crews worked together for the first time. That was also mentally important in the preparation for this season. I'm really happy with the results. David initially confirmed our hopes after finishing the second day of testing in P1 and in third place in the combined rankings of the three days.
Guido was very strong, especially when you consider that he had no pre-season preparation. He was injured for a long time and this was his first time working with us here. He first had to familiarise himself with the new bike, rode his first laps but twelfth place was way better than we expected. He proved his competitiveness in each session. From that point of view, we have two strong riders, the team did a great job and I would like to thank them for that. We are definitely feeling good for the first race of the year in Thailand."
