Rolling into the "Termas Tango" of Argentina with positive vibes
After a successful start to the season, the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team is now looking forward to the Argentina Grand Prix, which will be held from the 14th to 16th of March. While it will be the first encounter with the Termas de Rio Hondo for Moto3 rookie Guido Pini and Moto2 ace Senna Agius, David Muñoz and Manuel Gonzalez have already been able to gain their first experience on the Argentinian circuit.
Located in the Argentinian province of Santiago del Estero, the 4.81-kilometre Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo is known for its fast straights and flowing corners and has always provided exciting race weekends in the past. After the Argentina Grand Prix could not take place in 2024 due to the country's difficult economic situation, the Motorcycle World Championship is now returning to South America. But before the second race weekend has even begun, it os already certain that for Moto3 rider David Muñoz the 18-lap race on Sunday will be a real challenge. After a strong start in Thailand, the 18-year-old Spaniard caused a collision with a risky manoeuvre before he crashed himself and was unable to serve the previously imposed long lap penalty. Due to the risky incident, the FIM MotoGP stewards subsequently increased his penalty to a start from the pit lane at the Argentina GP. This makes the preparatory work in the practice sessions all the more important, in which the main focus will lie on a strong race pace in order to be able to start the catch up immediately in the race on Sunday at 12 am local time time. Meanwhile, team-mate Guido Pini is very much looking forward to the race track he has never ridden before and can hardly wait to bring his potential to the track together with his crew and turn it into a respectable result.
After their double podium in Buriram, the Moto2 riders of the German racing team are going into the second race weekend of the season with great self-confidence. Manuel Gonzalez, who celebrated his first victory for the Intact GP team in Thailand, wants to build on this impressive performance. The Spaniard has already raced once in Argentina in 2023. His team-mate Senna Agius, who also had a strong start to the season with his third place in Thailand, is aiming for another top finish, even though the Australian has never ridden at Termas de Rio Hondo before. Both riders feel comfortable on their Kalex bikes and are optimistic that they will once again be able to fight for top positions in the 21-lap thriller on the technically demanding circuit.
Meanwhile, fans can look forward to exciting racing and heated battles at the Autódromo Termas de Rio Hondo and should tune in on Sunday afternoon at 16:00 Central European Time for the Moto3 race, before Moto2 kicks off its second round of the season at 17:15 (CET).
