Triumphant weekend for Garzo in Assen, Tulovic scores with P7 and P4

The Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE team left the Dutch Grand Prix with a full points account after Hector Garzo took a win in race one, followed by a third place in race two and Lukas Tulovic also impressed with a seventh and a fourth place despite a sore hand.

Everything was in place for a successful conclusion to the Dutch TT on the 4.54 km long traditional racetrack in Assen, after Hector Garzo had already more than impressively demonstrated his strengths on Friday. However, it was unclear until the last lap that the Spaniard would take a brilliant victory in Race 1, as the battle between him and Alessandro Zaccone reached the line, where the two warhorses were ultimately separated by just 0.122s. In the second race of the day, the Italian turned the tables and was able to build a gap between himself and the 26-year-old Garzo, but then the Dynavolt rider had to drop back one position after overtaking under yellow and thus losing his second place.
With a total of 31 points more in his championship account, Garzo left the Netherlands highly satisfied. But in just one week's time, he will have the chance to make amends and further reduce the gap of just eleven points to the world championship leader.

Still suffering from the pain of his hand operation, German Lukas Tulovic delivered an extremely impressive race day in Assen. The 24-year-old managed to score points in both races on this sunny Saturday, gritting his teeth after his seventh place in Race 1, and even getting a whiff of the podium when he fought an equal battle with team-mate Hector Garzo in race 2. With this positive feeling, the rider from Baden-Württemberg is now heading back to Germany, where the sixth round of the MotoE season is already on the programme in just one week's time.
Of course, Tulovic is looking forward to the support of the fans on home soil at the Sachsenring on 5th - 6th of July and hopes to be able to reach new heights at his home GP.

"Looking back, I have mixed feelings about the race day, because I'm a little annoyed that I didn't make it onto the podium by such a narrow margin. But the satisfaction of what we have achieved outweighs this. To deliver such a weekend so soon after the serious crash in Mugello and the injury is definitely a damage limitation. We scored a decent number of points and showed that we have the speed. Now I have to make sure that I recover and regenerate well over the next five days so that I have even less pain next weekend. I definitely want to be in better shape at the Sachsenring so that I can achieve even better results at our home race in front of our own fans."

"I am very happy with today! My team did a fantastic job yesterday in terms of the set-up and the feeling for the bike, and the track’s conditions were also at their best. Today at lunchtime we definitely underlined our potential because I was able to do what I wanted with the bike in every situation, which is very important in MotoE. For sure it was a tough race, but also in the afternoon because the conditions at the track changed a bit due to the increased temperatures both on the ground and in the air. We always knew we were competitive and could win as well as fighting in bad conditions, but this weekend we were able to gain some advantages over the others. The race in the afternoon was really crazy because I didn't know that I was overtaking under yellow flags. So, I had to drop back one position with two laps to go. It wasn't easy for me to deal with the situation because the tyres were no longer in the best condition. But overall, I'm satisfied, because although I pushed the bike to the limit, today's results and the feeling were so good for me."
