Improvement for Binder and Agius at the British Grand Prix
After the summer break, the LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Moto2 team led by Darryn Binder and Senna Agius will start the British Grand Prix from positions 18 and 20, which will certainly make the tenth round of the World Championship the next challenge for the duo.
South African veteran Darryn Binder looks back on a positive weekend so far on Saturday afternoon after working intensively with his crew from Friday onwards. With steadily improving results within the top 15, the 26-year-old made his way straight into Q2, where he finished in eighteenth place on row six with a 2'03.925, 0.985s behind pole setter Ai Ogura. The 17-lap race on Sunday at 14:30 (local time) will certainly not be easy, but the layout of the long, fast Silverstone circuit invites numerous overtaking manoeuvres. The road to the points is not far away, and the progress made in the previous sessions has given Binder new confidence.
Team-mate Senna Agius is similarly optimistic going into the race in England after the Australian only just missed out on making it out of Q1. For the determined Moto2 rookie, it is his first encounter with the demanding British circuit, but he gradually worked his way forward and improved by almost two seconds from Friday to Saturday. From seventh on the grid, he will be hot on the heels of his rivals on Sunday afternoon from 20th on the grid and will do his utmost to finish the tenth round of the season with a solid points finish.
