Tulovic & Garzo on course for revenge in Barcelona
The third stop of the 2024 MotoE World Championship takes the Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE duo to the Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya, where local hero Hector Garzo will try to thrill his home fans with a revenge spectacle from the 24th - 25th of May. For Lukas Tulovic, meanwhile, the aim is to further increase his pace in order to be able to continue his journey to Mugello next week with a full points account.
Less than two weeks after the French Grand Prix, where Lukas Tulovic scored a total of 15 championship points, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will now host the third of the eight-round season, which also includes two sprint races this Saturday. Eleventh and sixth place in France has whetted the German's appetite for more, especially as the 23-year-old was unable to show his true potential due to a mistake in the first race. This is now set to change in Barcelona and "Tulo" is aiming for two top results to push him into the top five of the world championship.
After his MotoE experienced team-mate Hector Garzo failed twice in Le Mans despite brilliant performances in qualifying and strong race starts, it is now all about revenge and making amends on home turf. The Spaniard is bursting with hunger for victory and hopes to show off his potential in the two races on Saturday at 12:15 and 16:10 (CEST) and fight his way back up the championship standings. The 25-year-old, who is one of the top favourites for this year's season, finished the 2023 Catalunya Grand Prix with a podium (P3) and fourth place. Garzo knows the 4.66-kilometre track not far from the Spanish metropolis of Barcelona like the back of his hand and will do everything he can to live up to his role as the local hero on the Ducati V21L.
