Binder scores P7 in India

The LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Moto2 team leaves the first Indian Grand Prix with a successful race result from Darryn Binder, who finished the heat battle in seventh place. Lukas Tulovic, meanwhile, underwent a successful fixation surgery on his left collarbone.

It was undoubtedly a successful comeback for Darryn Binder, as the South African earned an important fifth place on the grid in qualifying, from which he made two good starts on Sunday afternoon In the first corner, there was a mass crash, which resulted in the race being red-flagged due to the five riders involved. A short time later, the South African experienced the thrill of the start a second time, and there too the 25-year-old managed to stay out of the rumble. Twelve more laps had to be completed in sweaty conditions on the demanding 5.01 km track. Binder was constantly in seventh position, where he eventually finished, earning him nine valuable World Championship points.

After Lukas Tulovic injured his left collarbone in the third practice session at the Buddh International Circuit on Saturday, the German underwent successful surgery at the Apollo Hospital Jasol in New Delhi on Sunday morning. The fracture was fixed with a plate so that the 23-year-old can now start rehabilitation immediately. The entire LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP team wishes Lukas Tulovic a speedy recovery and return.
In just one week's time, from 29.09. - 01.10.2023, the 14th Grand Prix of the year is on the agenda in Japan.
