Binder and Agius complete pre-season tests and are ready for the 2024 season
The IRTA test at the 4.42-kilometre Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto was a hive of activity for three days. In preparation for the start of the season next weekend in Qatar, the crews around the ambitious LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP team of Darryn Binder and Senna Agius laid the foundations for the 2024 season.
After the winter break and a shortened Portimao test due to the weather, South African Darryn Binder, whose 2023 season resembled a rollercoaster ride, was primarily concerned with further familiarising himself with the new Pirelli tyres in Jerez and preparing for the upcoming start of the season. A revealing test to put together a solid package for next week's Qatar Grand Prix at the Losail International Circuit.
The German Moto2 team's new signing, Senna Agius, followed an equally busy test schedule after the Portimao test left little opportunity for experimentation due to bad weather. The young Australian worked all the more meticulously on various components in Spain before gaining many helpful insights into his new bike in a race simulation on day 2, which he had already ridden several times last year as a substitute rider. At the end of the three-day test, the 18-year-old said that he is travelling to the season opener in Doha from 8-10 March with a good feeling. The Australian is hopeful that the good test work will pay off in the course of the long season ahead.
