Intact juniors heading into Barcelona round with a huge boost of self-confidence

As a result of Rico Salmela's first victory in JuniorGP Moto3 World Championship, all promising talents in LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Junior Team have set their sights even higher.

One week before the Gran Premio de Catalunya, round three of the 2024 FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship takes place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend. In particular, the established German based LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Junior Team is looking to repeat their strong results from the weekend before last at the selective circuit just outside the pulsating capital of Catalonia.

Being victorious in tricky track conditions recently, 16-year-old Finn Rico Salmela put everything in the shade in Estoril. But his two team mates Jakob Rosenthaler and Leo Rammerstorfer, both from Upper Austria, also showed their talent once again in this race, finishing tenth and eleventh respectively. This Sunday, the trio will have two more opportunities to chase points and success.

Thanks to the 25 points for victory, Salmela has put himself into seventh place in the overall standings. Rosenthaler is currently in 13th place with 12 points, while Rammerstorfer is in 17th place with nine points.

The junior department of the racing team from Memmingen in the Allgäu is represented in European Talent Cup by 14-year-old Alex Longarela. The Spaniard finished fourth in the first race in Estoril in pouring rain, while in the second race he did not manage the changeover to dry conditions as well as he would have liked. He finished 16th, just outside the points, but that is also part of his learning process to quickly overcome minor setbacks like this.

This weekend in Barcelona, LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Junior Team has two races in JuniorGP Moto3 class on the program and only one in the highly competitive European Talent Cup.

The championship once again comprises seven race weekends. There will be live timing from Friday and, as usual, a live stream via the series' YouTube channel on Sunday, where all races will be shown.
