Next stop: The half-time spectacle at Mugello
With the Mugello Grand Prix, the FIM MotoE World Championship reaches the halfway point of the 2024 season on Italian soil. For Hector Garzo and Lukas Tulovic of the Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE team, it is therefore important to really step up the pace once again and score high points in the two sprint races on Saturday in order to keep the pressure on the world championship leaders.
Two race weekends in a row are quite a challenge for the MotoE riders, especially when it comes to a demanding track like the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello and two races having to be contested in one day. But before things get exciting on Saturday at 12:15 and then at 16:10 (CEST), the four sessions on Friday have to be utilised as best as possible.
Hector Garzo is hoping to top his recent fourth and fifth place finishes at Catalunya, which is why he will be doing everything in his power at Mugello to repeat his strong practice and qualifying performances in order to fight at the front against his rivals and get back into the title fight.
German Lukas Tulovic suffered a crash at the Barcelona Grand Prix and finished sixth in the second race. The 23-year-old was not 100% satisfied with this result, so "Tulo" is already looking forward to his next chance to shake up the 18-strong field of riders and score important points. The two 7-lap sprints will certainly be a challenge for the Ducati V21L, but with his experience he wants to get the best out of himself and his e-bike on the 5.25 km long track, which winds its way through the picturesque hills of Tuscany 30 kilometres north-east of Florence.
