Starting point for a new era for LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP
The newly merged LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Moto3 and Moto2 team will face its baptism of fire from March 24th to 26th, when, for the very first time, the season opener of the Motorcycle World Championship will take place on Portuguese soil in Portimao, nestled in the breathtaking landscape of the Algarve.
With the start of the 2023 World Championship, the German racing team will be coming up with a new rider line-up. In Moto3, World Championship candidate Ayumu Sasaki and rookie Collin Veijer will fight for glory, while Lukas Tulovic and Darryn Binder do so in the Moto2 category.
The schedule has also undergone a change due to the new format in MotoGP in this 21-race long season. New in the Moto3 and Moto2 categories: there will be no more warm-ups on Sunday and yet fans can expect a weekend of superlatives on the 4.59 km long rollercoaster track, as the first pre-season tests in Jerez de la Frontera and Portimao already hinted at an incredibly high level in all classes. With pre-summer temperatures and sunshine expected, the four riders of the LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP team will be fighting for the first world championship points of the season.
The races at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve will be broadcast live on ServusTV in Germany and Austria, but those at home should note that there is a one-hour time difference to Portugal.
