Ready for the final title fight in Barcelona
True to the motto #RacingForValencia, the MotoGP World Championship will be racing in Barcelona for the victims of the catastrophic floods in Valencia this weekend, from the 15th - 17th of November. For this extraordinary season finale, the LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP team has set its sights high once again in both Moto3 and Moto2, as the only remaining German team has nothing less than two runner-up world championships and the "Rookie of the Year" title at stake.
In Moto3, Collin Veijer will be fighting for the runner-up title twice this final weekend before the 19-year-old ventures into the Moto2 World Championship after two extremely successful years with the Bavarian-based racing team. Veijer will mostly fight on his own in the rider standings, but in the battle for second place in the team standings, the Dutchman will have the support of his Japanese team-mate Tatsuki Suzuki, who, for his part, will also be hoping for a positive ending to his eventful season when the lights go out for the final Moto3 battle at 11:00 (CET) on the 17th of November, opening the start of the 18-lap race, for which mild and sunny conditions are to be expected.
For Darryn Binder, it will be his last appearance for the LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Team, with whom he fought for and celebrated successes for two years. The 2024 season was again not without any hurdles for the South African, but the 26-year-old has always faced his challenges with unbridled motivation. At this important last Grand Prix of the season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, he will once again put all his heart and soul into the practice sessions and qualifying in order to start the 21-lap race on Sunday, of which the proceeds of which and fundraising activities will benefit the flood victims in Valencia, at 12:15 (CET) from the best possible starting position.
Senna Agius will end his first season as a regular rider in the Moto2 World Championship at the 4.66-kilometre circuit just outside the Spanish metropolis of Barcelona. The rookie's season has been phenomenal at times, with the 19-year-old Australian recently celebrating his first World Championship podium at his home Grand Prix at Phillip Island. Agius is aiming for an equally memorable success in the final showdown, having achieved one of his best race results with fifth place at the same circuit in May. But in this final dance, the Aussie is still in contention for the title of "Rookie of the Year", in which he is one point behind Diogo Moreira in second place.
